Using Pythagoras theorem

8^2+b^2=17^2, where b is the breadth of the rectangle

64+b^2=289

b^2=289–64=225 cm^2

b=15 cm

Perimeter= 2(8+15)=46 cm

Since 15 > 8, we rename , length= 15 cm and breadth = 8 cm
