a rectangle measures 8 cm by 6 cm. On shorter sides two equilateral Triangles are constructed on the outside of the rectangle with the longer side as hypotenuse. find the total area and perimeter of the figure​

AREA-

area of 1st equilateral triangle =(6cm)^2=36cm^2

area of 2nd triangle will be the same because both has equal sides

area of rectangle=8×6=48cm^2

area of whole fig.=area of 1st triangle +area of 2nd triangle +area of rectangle =36+36+48=120cm^2

PERIMETER-

perimeter of 1st triangle =6+6+6=18cm

perimeter of 2nd triangle will be also 18cm

perimeter of rectangle=2(8+6)=2×14=28cm

perimeter of whole fig.=18+18+28=64cm
