Area of a rectangle= Breadth X Length

24 X 17

= 408 square centimetres

Area of a square= Side X Side

21 X 21

= 441 square centimetres

Therefore, the area of the square is larger than the area of a rectangle by (441-408) 33 square centimetres.

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Area of this rectangle = 24 × 17 cm^2

Area of this rectangle = 408 cm^2

Area of square = side^2

Area of this square = ( 21 cm )^2

Area of this square = 441 cm^2

Now,

Area of rectangle = 408 cm^2

Area of square = 441 cm^2

Hence, Area of square is greater than the area of rectangle by ( 441 - 408 = 33 cm^2 ) 33 cm^2
