kartikey13082004: let breadth of rectangle be x. Then According to the question perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square =>2(40+x)=4×30=>80+2x=120=>x=(120-80)÷2=>x=20. Therfore breadth=x=20cm. Therefore area of rectangle=20×40=800cm^2 and area of square=30×30=900cm^2. Therefore area of square is more than area of rectangle by 100cm^2

Hi Mate!!!

Let the breadth of rectangle be = x

it's perimeter = 2 ( 40 + x )

And

Perimeter of square having sides 30cm is = 4 × 30 = 120cm

According to the question.

2 ( 40 + x ) = 120

x = 20 cm

Now, area of rectangle is = 20 × 40 = 800cm²

And

Area of square is = 30 × 30 = 900cm²

From above it is clear that area of square is more then area of rectangle.

Have a nice day ahead.
