A rectangle of width 8 cm is cut off from a square sheet along its side .The remaining rectangular portion has an area 84 square centimeter .Calculate the side of the square

Answer:

Width of cut off rectangle = 8cm

Area of cut off rectangle = length× breadth

= x × 8cm

Area of Remaining rectangular portion = 84cm square

Side of square = Area of cut off rectangle+ Area of Remaining rectangular portion/2
