Area of park =l×b=45×30=1350 cm

2

Area of park with path is =45+2.5+2.5×30+2.5+2.5=1750 cm

2

Therefore,

Area of path = Area of park with path − Area of rectangular park

=1750−1350=400 cm

2

Hence, this is the answer.

Question :

  • A rectangle park is 45 m long and 30 m wide. A path 5 m wide is constructed outside the park. Find the area of the path.

Answer :

Given:

  • A rectangular park with length = 45m
  • Breadth= 30m
  • And path = 5m

To Find :

Area of the path.

Solution :

Area of a rectangular park = b

= 45×30

\color{blue} = 1350 {m}^{2}

Area of park with path = (40+5+5) × (30+5+5)

= 55×40

  \color{indigo}= 2200 {m}^{2}

» Therefore Area of path = 2200 - 1350

\color{cyan} \boxed{ \colorbox{black}{ = 850m²\color{red}★}}

» Hence, the required area is 850m².
