GIVEN

Length of rectangular park = 45 m

Breadth of rectangular park = 30 m

Width of path = 2.5 m

TO FIND

Area of the path

FORMULA

Area of rectangular park = L × B

SOLUTION

Area of rectangular park = L × B

= ( 45 × 30 )m²

= 1350 m²

So, area of ABCD is 1350 m²

Now, we will find the area of EFGH and then

Subtract from ABCD to get area of path.

Length of EFGH = (45 + 2.5) = 47.5 m

Breadth of EFGH = (30 + 2.5) = 32.5m

So, area of EFGH =

= ( 47.5 × 32.5)m²

= 1543.75 m²

THEN,

Area of path =

( area of EFGH ) - (area of ABCD)

= (1543.75 - 1350)m²

= 193.75m²

So, area of path is 193.75 m²
