\boxed{Question:-}

A rectangle piece of paper has a length of 14cm and a breath of 12cm. A square piece of paper of perimeter 24cm us cut off from it. find the area of the piece if paper left?

\boxed{Solution:-}

For Rectangle↓

Length(l)=14cm

Breadth(b)=12cm

Area of Rectangle=b

=>14×12=168cm²

Square↓

Perimeter=4×a

=>24=4×a

=> \frac{\cancel{24}}{\cancel{4}} =A

=>6cm=a

side(a)=6

Now,

=>=36

=>168-36

=>132cm²

\huge\underline\mathrm{Answer-}

\large{\boxed{\red{\rm{Remaining\:Area\:of\:paper\:left=\:132\:cm^2}}}}

\huge\underline\mathrm{Explanation-}

Given :

  • Length of rectangle = 14 cm
  • Breadth of rectangle = 12 cm
  • Perimeter of square = 24 cm

To find :

  • Remaining area if square is cut off from rectangle

Solution :

We know that,

\large{\boxed{\rm{Area\:Of\:Rectange\:=\:Length\:\times\:Breadth}}}

Putting the values,

\implies Area of rectangular piece = 14 × 12

\implies Area of rectangular piece = 168 cm²

Now, it is given that a square of Perimeter 24 cm is cut off from rectangular piece,

\large{\boxed{\rm{Perimeter\:of\:square\:=\:4\:\times\:side}}}

\implies 24 = 4 × side

\implies Side = \cancel{\dfrac{24}{4}}

\implies Side = 6 cm

\therefore Side of square is 6 cm.

Now, we have to find the area of square.

\large{\boxed{\rm{Area\:Of\:Square\:=\:Side^2}}}

\implies Area of square = 6 × 6

\implies Area of square = 36 cm²

\rule{100}1

\boxed{\rm{Remaining\:Area\:=\:Area\:of\:rectangle\:-\:Area\:of\:square}}

\implies Remaining area = 168 - 36

\large{\boxed{\red{\rm{\therefore\:Remaining\:Area\:of\:paper\:left=\:132\:cm^2}}}}
