let the length of the rectangle=4x
let the breadth of the rectangle=x
area of rectangle=2 (l+b)
=2 (4x+x)=10x
2500=10x
x=2500/10
x=250
length=4x=4×250
=1000

Answer:

Given: A rectangle's length is 4 times its breadth it has an area of 2500 square yards

Area of rectangle is defined as multiply the length with the breadth.

i.e A =l \times b where l is the length and b is the breadth of rectangle respectively.

As per the given condition;

Length(l) = 4 breadth(b) and Area of rectangle(A) = 2500 square yards

then,

A = (4b) \times b or

2500 = 4b^2

Simplify:

b^2=625

b=\sqrt{625} = 25 yards

Length(l) =4 \times 25 = 100 yards

therefore, the length of rectangle is 100 yards.
