Length of rectangular towel including border = 96 cm
Breadth of rectangular towel including border = 60 cm
Therefore, Area of rectangular towel including border = (96×60) sq.cm = 5760 sq.cm
Length of border = 3 cm
Now, Lenght of rectangular towel excluding border = (96-2×3) cm = (96-6) cm = 90 cm
Breadth of rectangular towel excluding border = (60-2×3) cm = (60-6) cm = 54 cm
Therefore, Area of rectangular towel excluding border = (90×54) sq.cm = 4860 sq.cm
Therefore, Area of border = (5760-4860) sq.cm = 900 sq.cm
