a rectangle with diagonal of length 20cm has sides in the ratio 2:1 find the area of the rectangle.​

Answer:

le the sides of rectangle be AB&CD=length=2x & BC&AC=bradth=x

Diagonal is AD=20cm

By Pythagoras theorem

(AD)^2=(AB)^2 + (BC)^2

= (2x)^2+(x)^2

=4x^2+x^2

=5x^2

(20)^2=5x^2

20=5x

x=20/5

x=4

one side =x=4cm

other side=2x=2×4=8cm

Area of rectangle= length ×breadth

=8×4

=32cm^2
