The diagonal of the rectangle will be,
√100+64 = √164

Diagonal of a square = side√2

The diagonals are equal,
So, √164 = side√2
164 = side²(2)
side² = 82
side = √82cm

So, the length is √82cm.

bradleysmyth: so whats the final answer
Hiteshbehera74: it's √41cm
bradleysmyth: that didnt work
Hiteshbehera74: ???
bradleysmyth: it said wrong answer
Hiteshbehera74: then what it is?
debtwenty12pe7hvl: it said wrong answer right ans is √82 cm
Hiteshbehera74: ok
Hiteshbehera74: understood my mistake

Given -:A rectangle with sides 10 cm and 8 cm

we know

that diagonals of a rectangle is √[L^2 +B^2]

and diagonals of a rectangle is √2* side

now diagonal of rectangle  = diagonal of as a square  [given]

∴√[L^2 +B^2] =√2* side

∴√[10^2 +8^2] =√2* side

∴√[100 +64] =√2* side

∴√[164] =√2* side

∴2√41=√2* side

∴[2√41]/√2= side

∴[2√41]/√2[√2/√2] = side     [rationalizing the denominator]

∴[2√41]*√2/2 =side

∴√41*√2 =side

∴√82 =side   ANS
