Given,

Length of rectangular floor = 20 m

Breadth of rectangular floor = 15 m

Length of side of square tiles = 20 cm

= 0.2 m

Answer ,

Area of the room = 20 m × 15 m

(since, area of rectangle = l × b)

= 300m²

Area of 1 tile = 0.2 m × 0.2 m

(since area of square = side²)

= 0.04m²

No. of tiles required

= 0.04 × 300

= 12

Hence, 12 tiles are required
