Given:

★Length of Rectangular area = 12 m

★Breadth of Rectangular area = 8 m

To find:

Total area of garden = ?

Solution:

★Area of path =

Area of larger rectangle-Area ofbsmaller rectangle

Finding length and breadth of both rectangle

Smaller Rectangle :

Length = 12m

Breadth = 8 m

★Larger Rectangle:

• Length of larger Rectangle= length of smaller rectangle+ 2×0.5 m

= 12+1

=13m

• Breadth of Larger rectangle= Breadth of smaller rectangle+2×0.5m

=8+1

=9m

Area of Smaller rectangle:

Length = 12m

Breadth= 8m

Area = L×B = 12×8 = 96 {m}^{2}

★Area of Larger rectangle:

Length = 13 m

Breadth = 9 m

Area= L×B= 13×9 = 117 {m}^{2}

Now,

Area of garden = Area of Larger Rectangle- Area of Smaller Rectangle

=117 {m}^{2}-96 {m}^{2}

= 21 {m}^{2}

So ,

Total Area of Garden = 21 {m}^{2}
