Given:

  • Volume of a rectangular box ( cuboid ) = 140 m

  • Breadth of cuboid ( b ) = 4 m

  • Height of cuboid ( h ) = 5 m

To find out:

Find the length of given rectangular box ?

Formula used:

Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

Solution:

Let the length of rectangular box be l .

According to the question,

Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

Substituting the values in the above formula, we get

⇒ 140 = length × 4 × 5

⇒ 140 = length × 20

⇒ length = 140/20

⇒ length, l = 7 m

Additional information:

  • Perimeter of the cuboid = 4 ( l + b + h )

  • Total surface area of the cuboid = 2 ( lb + bh + hl )

  • Lateral ( or Curved ) surface area of the cuboid = 2 ( l + b ) × h
