⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Capacity of the container formed is 1560 cm³

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\huge\underline\mathrm{Explanation-}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If we cut square of 3 cm from the corners of rectangular sheet then cuboid with the following measurements will formed :

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Length = 26 cm

  • Breadth = 20 cm

  • Height = 3 cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So we have to find the capacity or volume of cuboid.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We know that,

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\large{\underline{\boxed{\rm{Volume\:of\:cuboid\:=\:Length\:\times\:Breadth\:\times\:Height}}}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Putting the values,

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\implies Volume of cuboid = 26 × 20 × 3

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\implies Volume of cuboid = 1560 cm³

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\therefore Capacity of the container formed is 1560 cm³

Question :---- A rectangular card board sheet has length 32 cm and breadth 26 cm . Squares each of side 3 cm , are cut from the corners of the sheet and the sides are folded to make a rectangular container . Find the capacity of the container formed . ?

Formula and concept used :--

when a Square is cut From all corners of rectangular card , than Length of Rectangular card left = original length - 2(side of square.)

Similarly, Breadth of Remaining card = original breadth - 2(side of square.)

→ in this case now, volume or Capacity of Cuboid so, formed after folding, will be = (Remaining length of rectangular card) * (Remaining breadth ) * Side of Square.

[ Side of square becomes Height of cuboid so formed ].

______________________________

❁❁ Refer To Image First .. ❁❁

Solution :---

Length of Rectangular Card board = 32cm.

→ Breadth of Rectangular Card board = 26cm.

→ Side of Square = 3cm.

So, Now using above told Concept and image,

Length of rectangular container so formed = 32 * 2(3) = 32 - 6 = 26cm.

→ Breadth of rectangular container so formed = 26 - 2*(3) = 26 - 6 = 20cm.

Height of rectangular container so formed = 3 cm.

So,

Volume of rectangular container so formed = 26 * 20 * 3 = 1560 cm³ ..

Hence, Capacity of container formed will be 1560cm³.
