Hydraulic mean depth = area/perimeter.

R=a/p

R=18/12.

R=1.5.

V=c*r*s.

V=54.8*1.5*.0004.

V=1.50075m/s.

Q=a.v.

Q=18*1.5.

Q=27m3/s.

Answer:

When a rectangular channel of 6m wide and 3m deep is having a slope of 1 in 2000 is running full then the discharge of fluid is 24.16 m^3/s

Step-by-step explanation:

We have a rectangular channel having,

width,b = 6m

Depth, d = 3m

Slope = 1 in 2000 = 1/2000

And now we have to calculate the discharge through this open channel flow for which Chezy's constant is given as, C = 54.8.

Step 1 of 2

For calculating the discharge we need to calculate the hydrhydraulicaullic radius and then the velocity of flow. And finally, the dischatge will be calculated.

Hydraullic Radius, R = \frac{A}{P}

 where A = Area of cross-section of pipe

   and  P = Wetted Perimeter

then, R=\frac{6*3}{6+6+3}

R= 1.2

Step 2 of 3

Now According to Chezy Formula

V = C\sqrt{RS}

Here V = velocity of fluid

C = Chezy constant

R= Hydraullic Radius

S = Slope

By putting all the value we get

V=54.8\sqrt{1.2*\frac{1}{2000}

V = 1.342m/s

Step 3 of 3

Now Discharge = Area x Velocity

Discharge = 18m^2 x 1.342m/s

Then Discharge = 24.16 m^3/s

Hence the discharge through pipe is 24.16 m^3/s.
