Volume of cube
= Volume of rectangular container from the top up to 1cm + Volume of water overflowed from the container

= (1x6x6)cm^3 + 2cm^3
= 36cm^3 + 2cm^3
= 38cm^3

The volume of the cube is 44 cm³.

Given data :

The length of the one side of the square base is 6 cm.

Water level distance from the top is 1 cm.

Overflowing water volume 2cm × 2cm × 2cm

• So,the volume of the cube will the total of the remaining volume to become a fully filled container and the the volume of overflowing water.

• Remaining volume to become a fully filled container = base area × remaining height from the top = 6×6×1 = 36 cm³

• Overflowing water volume = 2×2×2 = 8 cm³

• So,the volume of the cube = (36+8) = 44 cm³ (answer)
