Answer:

let the breadth be x

so the length will be 2x

now the formula of perimeter =2(L+B)

so

2(2x+x)=540

6x=540

x=9

then size of bricks = 20cm*12cm

size =240cm*2

the area of rectangular court will be 16200cm*2

then

numbers of bricks = area of rectangular court / size of bricks

=16200/240

=675number of bricks

now,2nd part

cost =numbers of bricks*950

632250 /1000

cost of paving the court =Rs 632.25

a rectangular court is twice as long as its breadth

perimeter is 540m

Let the breadth = x

Then the length = 2x

Perimeter = 540

2(x+2x) = 540

3x = 540/2 = 270

x = 270/3

x = 90

So, breadth = 90 cm

And, length = 180 cm

Area = length × breadth

Area = 180× 90

Area of the court = 16200 cm ^2

Size of a brick is 20cm*12cm

Area of 1 brick = 20×12

Area of 1 brick = 240 cm^2

Number of bricks needed = 16200/240 = 67.5

67.5 bricks needed

the cost of bricks is rs 950 per 1000

Then,

The cost of 1 brick = 950/1000 = 0.95 rs

The cost of paving the court = number of bricks × cost of 1 brick

= 67.5× 0.95

= 64.125

Cost of paving the court is 64.125 rs

....... Hope this will help.......
