A rectangular door has a height of 2 m and a width of 1 m. Calculate the cost of painting both sides of the door at the rate of rupees 50 per sq. m.​

Height of the door = 2m    (Given)

Width of the door = 1m       (Given)

Area of the door = height * width

                            = 2m²

As the door has to be painted from both sides,

Area  to be painted =  2m² * 2 =  4m²

Rate of painting the door is Rs. 50/ m²

Therefore, cost of painting the door = Rate * Area

                                                             = 50 *  4

                                                             = Rs. 200

Therefore, Rs.200 will be spent on painting both sides of the door.
