given, length of rectangular field=750 meters
breadth=450 metres

now,if the road=5m wide and running at the right angles to each other,then

the area of the path running along the breadth=450*5=2250m^2

and the area of the path running along the length=750*5=3750m^2

Therefore, area of the path=area of the path running along the breadth+area of the path running around the length-crossing area over estimation

Area of the path=2250+3750-(5)^2
Area of the path=6000-25
Area of the path=5975m^2
Hope this helped you
Cheers............

area of efgh road = 750×5 = 3750sq.m
area of ijkl road = 450×5 = 2250sq.m
we have to cut the area of pqrs because it counts two times
area of pqrs = 5×5= 25sq.m
so,area of roads = 3750+2250-25
= 6000-25 = 5975sq.m
