Given: Length of a rectangular field = 750m ,

Breadth of a rectangular field = 450m.

Now, if the road = 5m is wide and running at the right angles to each other, then

the area of the path running along the breadth = 450×5=2250^m² and

the area of the path running along the length = 750×5=3750^m²

∴Area of path= the area of path along the breadth +area of path along length -crossing area over estimation.

So now imagine your rectangular field of 750 x 450 dimensions
Area of rectangle is length * breadth
So area of first road is 5 * 750 = 3750
Area of second road is 5 * 450 = 2250
But wait they intersect at centre which is centre
Area of square of side is side * side
Which is 5 * 5 = 25
So total area covered by road is
Area of first road + Area of second road - area of intersection
3750 + 2250 - 25 = 5975
