A rectangular field is 60m wide while its perimeter is 320m. If lying of grass cost 7.50 rupees per square metre, how much would it cost for grass to be laid on the field leaving a bare 8m wide all around the field?

Breadth of rectangle = 60m
Perimeter of rectangular field = 330m
2(Length + Breadth) = 320
2(Length + 60) = 320
Length + 60 = 320/2
Length + 60 = 160
Length = 160 - 60 = 100m

When we leaving a bare 8m all around,
Length of rectangle = 100 - 2(8) = 100 - 16 = 84m
Breadth of rectangular field = 60 - 2(8) = 60 - 16 = 44m
Area of rectangular field = Length × Breadth = 84×44 = 3,696m^2

Cost of 1m^2 lying grass = Rs.7.50
Cost of 3,696m^2 = 7.50 × 3,696 = Rs.27,720

Answer:

Breadth of rectangle = 60m

Perimeter of rectangular field = 330m

2(Length + Breadth) = 320

2(Length + 60) = 320 Length + 60 = 320/2

Length + 60 = 160

Length 160 - 60 = 100m

When we leaving a bare 8m all around, Length of rectangle = 100 - 2(8) = 100 - 16

= 84m

Breadth of rectangular field = 60 - 2(8) =

60 16 44m

Area of rectangular field = Length x Breadth = 84×44 = 3,696m^2

Cost of 1m^2 lying grass = Rs.7.50 Cost of 3,696m^2 = 7.50 × 3,696 = Rs.

27,720
