Step-by-step explanation:

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we need to get the area covered by the strip.

To get this we should understand that we have two rectangles.

One surrounding the other at a distance of 2.5 m.

The dimensions of the bigger triangle is given by :

Length = 2.5 + 2.5 + 25 = 30m

The width = 2.5 + 2.5 + 21 = 26m

The area of the inner rectangle is :

21 × 25 = 525 m^2

The area of the outer rectangle is :

30 × 26 = 780 m^2

The area of the strip is :

780 - 525 = 255

The cost of levelling the strip is :

Rs 5 per square meters.

The total cost will be :

5 × 255 = Rs 1275

Answer :

  • The cost of leveling the strip is 1275

Given:

  • A rectangular field is 25m long and 21 m wide
  • 2.5m wide strip is leveled all around at the rate of 5m²

To find :

  • The cost of leveling the strip

Solution :

Given,

  • Length is 25 and breadth is 21

Now Outer Rectangle :

  • Length = 25 + 5 = 30
  • Breadth = 21 + 5 = 26
  • Area of Outer Rectangle = 30 × 26 = 720m²

Now inner Rectangle :

  • Length = 25
  • Breadth = 21
  • Area of inner Rectangle = 25 × 21 = 525m²

Area of strip = Area of Outer Rectangle - Area of inner Rectangle

  • 720 - 525 = 255m²

Now we have to find the cost of leveling the strip

Given the rate of 5 per square meter so ,

  • 255 × 5 = 1275

Hence , The cost of leveling the strip is 1275
