Answer

  • The area of the paths are 20 m² and 30 m²

Explanation

Given

  • Dimensions of a rectangle are 20 m & 15 m
  • Two paths are laid here
  • Breadth of the longer path is 2 m
  • Breadth of the shorter path is 1 m

To Find

  • The area of the path?

Solution

  • Here one path will have a length 20 m and the other shorter path will have a length of 15 m
  • This is because we are given that the two paths run parallel to the rectangle through the centre of the field

Area of shorter path

→ Area(Rectangle) = Length × Breadth

  • Length = 20 m
  • Breadth = 1 m

→ Area(Shorter Path) = 20 × 1

→ Area(Shorter Path) = 20 m²

Area of longer path

→ Area(Rectangle) = Length × Breadth

  • Length = 15 m
  • Breadth = 2 m

→ Area(Longer Path) = 15 × 2

→ Area(Longer Path) = 30 m²
