A rectangular field is of the size 30m×20m.Two paths run parallel to the side of the rectangle through the centre of the field.The width of the larger and shorter path are 3m and 2m respectively. Find the area of the path.Also, find the area of remaining portion of the field.

here given the length of rectangular plot = 30m

and breadth = 20m

area of rectangular plot is = l*b

                                          =  ( 30*20) m2

                                              =  60m2

the are of first path  =  20 *3 m2  ( as shown in the figure )

                                      = 60m2

area of 2nd path is =  30*2 m2 ( as shown in the figure )

                                = 60m2

and the plot common in both path is 3*2 m2 = 6m2 ( as shown in the figure )

total area of path = 600m2 - ( 60 +60 - 6 ) m2

                             =600m2 - 114m2

                                =  486m2
