a rectangular field measures 40m by 25m.there is a rectangular flowerbed in the centre of the field,which is 5 m away from each side of the rectangular field.find the area which is not covered by the flowerbed.

Total area of field = 40 x 25 = 1000m²

Area of flowerbed  = 700m²   (40 -5 = 35;   25-5 = 20)

area which is not covered flowerbed = 1000 - 700 = 300m²
