(i) the area covered by the road
(ii) the cost of constructing the road at the rate of rupees 110 per metre square ​

Area covered by road(parallel to length) is

        = 90m x 3m

        =  270 m²

Area covered by road(parallel to width) is

        = 60m x 3m

        = 180 m²

Area of roads = 270 + 180 m² = 450 m²

Note that we have added the area at the centre twice, which is 3 x 3 = 9m². We would subtracted this once.

 Hence,

area covered by roads = 450 - 9 m²

                                       = 441 m²

Cost of construction = rate x area

        = Rs 110 x 441

        = Rs 48510
