a rectangular floor is 18 m long and 12m board. The floor has to be covered with smaller rectangular tiles each of which is 45 cm long and 30 cm board. Find the number of tiles required to cover the floor ​

Length of the floor = 18 x 100 = 1800 cm

Breadth of the floor = 12x 100 = 1200 cm

Area of floor = l x b

= 1800 x 1200

= 2160000 cm ^ 2

Area of tile = 45 x 30

= 1350 cm ^ 2

Total no. of tiles required = area of floor/. area of tile.

= 2160000/1350

= 1600

Therefore no. of tiles required are 1600
