Given:

  • Dimensions of rectangular floor is 8.4 x 5.4 cm.
  • Base of triangle is 40 cm and height is 30 cm.

To Find:

  • Marble pieces will be required to cover the floor.

Solution:

First finding the area of rectangular floor.

  • Length of floor = 8.4 m or 840 cm
  • Breadth of floor = 5.4 cm or 540

★ Area of Rectangle = Length × Breadth

→ Area of floor = (840 × 540) m²

→ 453600 m²

So,

  • The area of rectangular floor is 453600 cm².

Now,

  • Area of each marble piece that is in form of triangle.

As we know:

★ Area of triangle = 1/2(Base)(Height)

→ Area of marble = 1/2(40)(30)

→ 1 × 20 × 30

→ 600 cm²

∴ Total marble pieces required = Area of floor/Area of marble piece

→ 453600 cm²/600 cm²

→ 756 marble pieces.

Hence,

  • Triangular marble pieces will be required to cover the floor = 756.
