area of the floor = 540*840.
=453600 cm sq.
area of the marbal piece = 1/2 * 40* 30
= 600 cm sq.

now,
no. of marbal piece reqd. = 453600 / 600
= 756 marbal piece.

756 marbles are required to cover the rectangular floor

Given:

Length of floor = 8.4m or 840cm

Breadth of floor = 5.4m or 540cm

Base of triangular marble piece= 40cm

Height of triangular marble piece= 30cm

To Find:

how many marble pieces are required to cover the floor.

Solution:

Since, the dimensions of rectangular floor are given, we can find its area

Area of rectangular floor= length× Breadth

                                           = (840×540)cm²

                                            =453600cm²

Area of triangular marble piece= (1/2) × base× height

                                                      = 1×40×30/2

                                                      =600cm²

let n number of marble pieces are required to cover the floor

Then, 600× number of marble pieces= Area of rectangular floor             600n= 453600

   n= 453600/600

   n= 756

Hence, 756 marble pieces are required to cover the floor.
