A rectangular floor of length 9m and breadth 6m has black tiles laid in the pattern. Find the number of tiles laid if each tile has dimensions 40cm*10cm

rectangular floor
l = 9 m
b = 6 m
black tiles
l = 40 cm
b = 10 cm

rectangular floor,
9m = 900cm
6m = 600 cm

area of floor = l × b
= 900× 600
=540000 cm sq.

black tiles area = l × b
= 40×10
= 400 cm sq.

no of tiles = area of rectangular floor ÷ area of tiles
= 540000/ 400
= 1350 tiles

No. of tiles = 1350 tiles
