A rectangular garden 20m * 15m has a path 1.5 wide all around it. Find the area of the path.

= l * b

= 20 * 15

To find the area of the path we have to first find its length and breadth, so

Breadth of whole rectangle :-

breadth of inner rectangle + (1.5)2

= 15 + 3

Length of inner rectangle + (1.5)2

= 20 + 3

= 23 m²

Area of the rectangular garden including the path :-

L * B

= 23 * 18

= 414 m²

Area of path = area of whole rectangle - area of inner rectangle

= 414 - 300

= 114 m²

So, the area of path is 114 m².
