Given :-

Length of the garden = 30 m

Breadth of the garden = 25 m

Width of the path = 2.5 m

To Find :-

The area of the path

Solution :-

For the rectangle garden (including path) -

Area = Length × Breadth

= 30 m × 25 m

= 750 m²

For the rectangle garden (excluding path) -

Length = 30 m - (2.5 m + 2.5 m)

= 30 m - 5m

= 25 m

Breadth = 25 m - (2.5 m + 2.5 m)

= 25 m - 5 m

= 20 m

Area = Length × Breadth

= 25 m × 20 m

= 500 m²

Area of the path = 750 m² - 500 m²

= 250

Required answer = 250 m²

Given

  • A rectangular garden 30 metre long and 25 metre wide has a path 2.5 metre wide running all around inside it.

We Find

  • Area of the path

We Take First step

First, we need to know that what is the length and breadth of interior rectangle , so :-

☆ Length = 30 m - ( 2.5 + 2.5 )

Length = 25 m

☆ Breadth = 25 m - ( 2.5 + 2.5 )

Breadth = 20 m

So, interior rectangle have length 25 m and breadth 20 m.

We know

Area of rectangle = L × B

1. Area of exterior rectangle = 30 × 25

= 750 m²

2. Area of interior rectangle = 25 × 20 m

= 500 m²

Rest of rectangle is area of path

According to the question

We find area of path by,

= Area of exterior rectangle - Area of interior rectangle

= 750 m² - 500 m²

= 250 m²

Hence, Area of given path is 250
