A rectangular garden has a length and width of 20 m and 12 m respectively. A outer path is made 2 m wide . Find the area of the outer path.

Answer:

Area of rectangular garden = l×b =20×12=240sq.m

length of outer path =20+(2×2)=24m

Breath of outer path =12(2×2)=16m

Area of outer path =24×16=384sq.m

surface area of outer path = Area of outer path - Area of rectangular garden

= (384-240) = 144sq.m
