The path divides the rectangle into two rectangles..

Dimensions of the outer rectangle :
Length = 500m
Breadth = 400m.

Dimensions of the smaller rectangle :
Length = 496m
Breadth = 396m

Area of the path =
Area of outer rectangle - Area of inner rectangle
= 500*400 - 496*396
=200000 - 196416
= 3584

Therefore, Area of the path = 3584m^2.....
