A rectangular garden is 60 m long and 40 m wide. Through the middle of the garden run two straight path straight path at right angle to each other. If the width of each path is 2 m , find the area of the remaining portion of the garden.​

Area of garden

60 \times 40 = 240060×40=2400

Area of first path

60 \times 2 = 12060×2=120

Area of second path

40 \times 2 = 8040×2=80

Add

120 + 80 = 200120+80=200

Area of middle section

2 \times 2 = 42×2=4

Area of rem

2400 - 196 = 22042400−196=2204
