shown. It has roads 2m wide as shown by the shaded
region.a) Find the area of the roads.
b) Find the area of the garden, not covered by
the roads

Given,

A rectangular lawn 60 meters by 50 meters has two roads each 2 meters wide running in the middle of it one parallel to the length and the other parallel to breadth

a)Area of the road=50×2+60×2−2×2

                         =100+120−4

                         =216sqm

b)50*60-216

   3000-216

    2784
