Length of rectangular garden = 70 m and

Breadth of rectangular garden = 55 m

Outer length of rectangular garden with path = 70 + 3 + 3 = 76 m

Outer breadth of rectangular garden with path = 55 + 3 + 3 = 61 m

Outer area of rectangular garden with path

= length×breadth

= 76 × 61

= 4636 m²

Inner area of garden without path

= length×breadth

= 70 × 55

= 3850 m²

Now,

Area of path = Area of garden with path − Area of garden without path

= 4636 - 3850

= 786 m²

Cost of 1 m² = 17

Cost of 786 m² = 17 × 786

= 13362
