A rectangular garden is surrounded on its outside by 2m broad path . If the area of the path is 464 square metre, then what is the perimeter of the garden ?

Answer:

Since, it is surrounded by 2m wide path, the length and breadth of the larger rectangle (including path) becomes (l+4) and (b+4) respectively. So, 2×112 = 224. Your answer.
