A rectangular garden with length 90 m and breadth 55 m has two crossroads
One crossroad is 35 m wide and is peraillel to the length and the other crossroad
wide and is parallel to the breadth of the garden. Find the cost of
constructing these cressroads at 20 per m. See Figd.​

Answer:

area of rectangle EFGH=90*3.5=315m2

area of rectangle ABCD=55*3=165m2

area of rectangle IJKL=3*3.5=10.5m2

area of crossroads=area of rectangle EFGH+area of rectangle ABCD-area of rectangle IJKL

=315+165-10.5=469.5m2

cost=469.5*20=9390
