A rectangular grassy lawn measuring 50m by 20m is to be surrounded externally by a path wch is 12m wide calculate the 1-area of the path,2-cost of leveling the path at the rate of Rs8.25 per square meter.

here's ur answer...

given:-

length of the rectangular lawn = 50m

breadth of the rectangular lawn = 20m

area of the rectangular lawn = l × b

= 50 × 20

= 1000m²

ATQ,

12m wide path is surrounded externally of the lawn.

therefore Length of the path parallel to the Length of the lawn = 50 + 12 = 62m

length of the path parallel to the breadth of the lawn = 20 + 12 = 32m

area of lawn along with the path = 62 × 32

= 1984m²

1. area of the path = 1984 - 1000

= 984m²

2. total cost of levelling the path at the rate of ₹8.25 per m² = 984 × 8.25

= ₹8118
