We know that:-

Area of a rectangle = (l×b) square units

Where,

• l is length
• b is breadth

Area of the plot outside

= 125m × 74m

= (125×74) sq. m.

= 9250 square meters

Now, as the wide of the path is 2.5m all around inside of the plot:-

Length of the plot inside:-

= 125m - 2.5m - 2.5m

= 120m

Breadth of the plot inside:-

= 74m - 2.5m - 2.5m

= 69m

Area of the plot inside:-

= 120m × 69m

= (120×69) sq. m.

= 8280 sq. m.

Area of the path:-

= 9250sq.m. - 8280sq.m.

= (9250-8280) sq. m.

= 1000sq.m.

Hence, the cost of levelling the path:-
