A rectangular ground is thrice as long as its broad and its perimeter is 16m.It has to be paved by using tiles of uniform size 20cm long.If the room is covered by 600 tiles,how wide is the tile?

Answer:

l = 3b so 2( 3b + b ) = 16 so b is 2m so l is 6m therefore area is 12m^2

area of 1 tile is 12÷600 = 0.02 m^2

length of tile is 0.2m so breadth is 0.02/0.2 = 0.1m or 10cm
