A rectangular hall is 22m long and 15.5m broad.A carpet is laid inside the hall leaving all around a margin 75cm from the walls.Find the area of carpet and the area of the strip left uncovered.If the width of the carpet is 82cm,find its cost at the rate of rupees 124 per meter

length =22 m.
breadth =15.5 m
subtracting strip of 75cm from each side
length=22 -( 0.75+0.75)
=22- 1.50=20.50
breadth=15.5-(0.75+0.75)
=15.5-1.5=14
area of carpet= L×B
=20.5×14=287square metres
area of strip = total area- area of carpet
=(22×15.5)-287
= 341-287
=54 square metres
cost=2(l+B)×124
=2(20.5+0.82)×124
= 42.64×124
=5287.36 rupees
