A rectangular lawn 115m long and 64m broad has two cross paths at right angles one 2m wide running parallel to its length and other 2.5 m wide . running parallel to it,s breadth . find the cost of gravelling the paths at Rs. 144 per N2

Area of road parallel to length = 115 × 2 m

= 230 m square

Area of path parallel to breadth

= 64 × 2.5 m

= 160 m square

Area of common centre = 2 × 2.5 m

5 m square

Area of total path = 230 + 160 - 5 m

=385 m square

Rate of gravelling = Rs.144 per m sq.

= rs.144 × 385

=rs. 55, 440

Hence, the cost of graveling the path is 55,440.
