A rectangular lawn 30 m and 22 m broad has two cross roads, one 2.5 m wide, running parallel to its length and breadth. Find the area of the cross roads. ​

Answer:

Area of one road = 2.5 x 30 m²

=75 m²

Area of other road = 2.5 x 22 m²

=55 m²

Common Area of roads = (2.5 m)²

= 6.25 m²

Total area of roads = (75 + 55) - 6.25 m²

= 130 - 6.25 m²

= 123.75 m²
