A rectangular lawn 70 m by 50 m has two cross roads each 6 m wide running in the middle of it one parallel to the length and other parallel to the breadth. Find the cost of levelling them at rupees 5. 50 per squaremetre.​

length of the first cross road= 70 m

b= 6m

area of the 1st cross road= 70m*6m= 420m^2

length of the second cross road= 50m

b= 6m

area of the 2nd cross road= 50m*6m= 300m^2

area of the square of intersection of the two crossed road= 6^2= 36m^2

total area of the two cross road= (420m^2+300m^2)-36m^2 = (720-36)m^2= 684m^2

cost of leveling @5.50 / m^2= 684 * 5.50=

rs. 3762
