A rectangular lawn 75m by 60m has two roads each 4m wide running in the middle of it, one parallel to length and other parallel to breadth. Find cost of gravelling the roads at ₹50 per square metres

Area of road = (75 × 4) + (60 × 4) - (4 × 4)
= 524 m²
Therefore, cost = 524 × 50 = Rs. 26,200/-

Note: 4×4 is subtracted, otherwise, the common part of the road includes twice
