Step-by-step explanation:

a little correction in above solution

the area of road derived will have to be reduced by common area of the road as while calculating area of horizontal and vertical roads common area has been included twice.

so area of road will be

(30*2) + (20*2) - (2*2)

= 60+40-4

= 100-4

= 96 sqm
